Midi, auch als Jack Stoiker bekannt, wurde 1972 in St. Gallen gebrochen. Mit der "Hällwach"-Platte (1999) konnte er gewisse, wenn auch kommerziell unbedeutende Erfolge erzielen. Da ihn die hohe Intellektualität von Jack Stoikers Musik aber zunehmend anpisste, rief Midi irgendwann die Band "Knöppel" ins Leben: mehr Gewalt, mehr Sport (insbesondere Fussball) und vor allem mehr Fluchwörter.
